Thabi dreamed up Magnolia Sunset Markets in her head long before it came to life in 2021. Born and raised in Jackson, MS, she was recognized as one of Visit Jackson’s 2025 Hometown Heroes for her love of producing impactful community events. She’s the brains behind the business—steering development, logistics, and strategic partnerships to keep everything flowing.

Outside of the market, Thabi adores dogs (especially her sweet pup, Addie), finds peace in designing Xcessory Freex jewelry, and loves anything that sits at the crossroads of creativity, entrepreneurship, storytelling, and arts & culture. You can also catch her producing films or building community wherever she goes.

If you spot her at one of the markets with a question, don’t be shy—she most definitely has the answer! After all, the market is her happy place.

Shaquita officially joined the Magnolia Sunset Markets family in 2025 and quickly became a dynamic force behind the scenes. She plays a key role in business operations, event production & programming, marketing, and vendor relations—basically helping keep the whole machine running smoothly.

Originally an Alabama girl, Shaquita now proudly calls Mississippi home. She’s all about fashion, creating order from chaos, and building community. She also runs the wildly successful JXN Run Club with her partner, where she proudly holds her title as the boss lady.

At the market, you’ll usually find Shaquita in her “favorite auntie” mode—making sure everyone’s taken care of with equal parts love, style, and efficiency.

Java is a proud Jacksonian and longtime collaborator of Thabi’s—their creative journey goes all the way back to marching in the same high school band. For more than a decade, the two have worked side by side on projects where music plays the starring role, creating spaces that celebrate Mississippi’s arts & culture and bring community together.

As one of the founding members of Magnolia Sunset Markets, Java continues to serve as the chief curator of vibes. His signature DJ style always leaves market-goers on a natural high.

At the market, you’ll usually find Java hyping the crowd or deep in conversation with Thabi about the next big thing.

Zack officially joined the Magnolia Sunset Markets team in 2025 and hit the ground running. With a background in live production and a love for creating lighting designs, he brings serious technical chops to the table. At the market, Zack leads the logistics team, making sure everything is set and ready before vendors or attendees even arrive. He works hand-in-hand with Thabi and Shaquita to keep each market running like clockwork.

Born and raised in Jackson, MS, Zack loves meeting people and sharing his gifts—whether that means solving a problem, sharing a laugh, or lending a hand. (Seriously, he can fix just about anything, from a roof to the grill of your car!) On market day, he’s usually the first one on site, tent in hand, dancing to the beat with his million-dollar smile.
